Will I really get new teeth in one day?
Yes. Extractions, implant placement, and a fixed set of temporary teeth all happen the same day. Surgery takes about an hour per arch, plus about two hours to finish your temporary teeth. In a small number of cases where bone quality can't support same-day attachment, a healing denture is worn while the implants integrate instead. Dr. Blair will tell you exactly what to expect at your consultation.
How long does the whole process take?
You leave with fixed teeth on day one. You wear them for about 4 months on a soft diet while the implants fuse with your jawbone. Your permanent zirconia teeth are then made over several visits, and most patients are fully finished around 4 to 6 months after the procedure. Most people take 4 to 7 days off work after surgery.
I've been told I don't have enough bone. Can I still qualify?
Usually, yes. The implants are placed at specific angles that avoid the sinuses, which typically eliminates the need for bone grafts. This approach requires the least bone of any full-arch option, and many of our patients were turned away elsewhere. Your free consultation includes 3D imaging, which gives you a definitive answer.
Can I be put to sleep for the procedure?
That is something you and Dr. Blair will discuss at your free consultation. Almost all of our offices offer IV sedation or general anesthesia, and oral conscious sedation is also available in many practices. Your doctor will recommend what fits your health history and comfort level. If you choose sedation, you'll need a driver to and from your appointment.
What will my final teeth be made from?
Your permanent teeth are zirconia: stronger, more stain resistant, and more hygienic than the acrylic used in many offices. Zirconia is included in your standard price, not sold as an upgrade. Your same-day temporary set is acrylic, which is easy to repair if it chips during healing.
Do you offer warranties?
Yes. If an implant fails within the first year, we replace it at no cost. Your final bridge carries a 5-year warranty, conditional on keeping your 6-month professional cleaning visits. Nicotine use or uncontrolled diabetes voids the bridge warranty.
